The plot is located in a new growth area in the municipality of El Vendrell, located in Tarragona. With a 32 x 29 meters rectangular shape and totally flat, with access from a pedestrian street.

We are entrusted to design a building to house a kindergarten for children between 0 and 3 years old.

Taking into account that at these ages the children are just learning to walk and the possibility that all the classrooms have access to the outside garden, we decided that the building would be developed on one floor occupying the entire building land. The configuration of the building is resolved with a central atrium with classrooms and other uses around it, so that these are used for the four facades and the perimeter courtyards. These courtyards are partially covered by vegetable pergolas from the different facades to the perimeter fence.

We take advantage of the distance to borders established by the regulations to locate the patios as an extension of each of the classrooms. It is decided to use warm, environmentally friendly, recyclable and harmless materials for the little ones, making the most of the light and natural resources that facilitate play and activities, providing maximum well-being to students.

A compact building with a centrifugal organization around an atrium with overhead light, and a wooden arcaded structure that clearly, honestly and didactically defines the construction of all the spaces.
