CONTEXT

Located in Sant Feliu de Codines, this single-family house is conceived through a mineral and sustainable architecture, where materiality defines both the project’s expression and its environmental performance. The house combines passive strategies, locally sourced materials and low-impact solutions to integrate naturally with its surroundings while reducing energy demand.

ORGANISATION

The proposal is organised through a sequence of volumes connected by pitched roofs that structure the interior spaces and give identity to the ensemble. The more opaque bands concentrate the service and circulation areas, freeing the living spaces towards the landscape and enhancing natural light.

MATERIALITY

The construction system is based on load-bearing rammed earth walls, providing thermal inertia, reducing the environmental impact of the construction and giving the house a monolithic and timeless presence. Wood, used in the structure, carpentry and exterior screens, introduces warmth and improves interior comfort by regulating sunlight and solar exposure.
